Chelsea House

When young people complete their stay at the sober living home, they are encouraged to return to support the newer members, hence making the new members’ transition into the structured program smoother. Giving rides, sponsorship, attending meetings, events, parties, and conferences together create a community of support a young adult needs to achieve long-lasting sobriety. Our son entered the New Life Program at Miracle House fifteen months ago at the age of 35. My wife and I were at the end of the road in having any hope that he had much longer to live due to his lifestyle and his behavior.

Outpatient addiction counseling and recovery education are often offered during the morning, evening, night, and weekend, allowing clients to tailor treatment to their own schedule. Partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient (IOP) programs are the most time-intensive and are designed for clients who are at an increased relapse risk and/or who need more robust therapeutic support. Since 1985, New Life sober living in California has been helping young men cultivate a way of living they can be proud of. With the help of our program structure, caring staff, loving community, and decades of experience, we can build something beautiful—together. He opened Chelsea House, a group of facilities for young men’s sober living in Los Angeles.

Treatment

Many individuals in early recovery feel overwhelmed, and the risk of relapse is at its highest. The longer an individual stays in a safe, structured, and drug and alcohol-free environment, the more support they have. The duration of treatment varies among the unique needs of each individual. However, it is highly recommended that teens and young adults remain in a sober living home for at least a year to a year and a half. This offers teens and young adults the best chance at achieving emotional and physical recovery from addiction. The goal at each of our sober living houses is to help our members maintain their sobriety when they graduate from one of our sober living houses.

  1. Individual therapy for drug addiction includes a customized treatment plan that considers your history and life circumstances.
  2. The managers and directors spend a great deal of time with each house member, checking in with them, discussing their goals, fears, and decisions.
  3. Throughout his months at new life, he slowly learned how to love himself, to gain confidence and to truly learn what it means to be at peace.
  4. Long-term use can result in severe physical and mental health issues.
  5. Moreover, we have a stellar reputation of providing young men with the tools for success and community support they need in order to live a productive and happy life no matter what challenges they encounter along the way.

When he went into the program 15 months ago, he was a shell of himself, with no self esteem, no confidence and no sense of self. He was an active alcoholic who had no idea how to navigate his way through life as an adult without using alcohol to distract him. Throughout his months at new life, he slowly learned how to love himself, to gain confidence and to truly learn what it means to be at peace. Don’t get me wrong, there were plenty of ups and downs and trials and tribulations on both our parts. I spent many a late night dealing with anxiety and endless worry, but i knew every day that he was safe and he was learning to confront his demons and come out the other side.
